For those of us who have watched a cherished family member descend into the depths of this condition, the journey is marked by moments of profound sorrow and unexpected grace. Mildred, a beloved grandmother, once the matriarchal figure of wisdom and warmth, became the central figure in such a journey.

As dementia slowly unraveled the tapestry of her memories, Mildred began to drift away from the shared reality of her family.
